Rainy Chewelah

Hello from rainy Chewelah. Hope everything is well. In light of it being Thanksgiving and black Friday and everything I've got a funny about the madness of black Friday. Read Alma 57:8-9 and replace the city of "Cumeni" with Walmart, and replace "lamanites" with workers. If that doesn't describe black Friday to a tee I don't know what does:

And now behold, I will show unto you that we soon accomplished our desire; yea, with our strong force, or with a part of our strong force, we did surround, by night, [Walmart], a little before they were to receive a supply of provisions.

And it came to pass that we did camp round about [Walmart] for many nights; but we did sleep upon our swords, and keep guards, that the [workers] could not come upon us by night and slay us, which they attempted many times; but as many times as they attempted this their blood was spilt.
Thanksgiving as a missionary is fun but to some extent it really just feels like any other dinner appointment. We just happen to have turkey and ham but it's still a blast. And the PIE! So many members have given us left over pies and I honestly feel like I've had enough sugar to last a life time. But thankfully repentance is real and we can be forgiven of our gluttony.

Not a super eventful week but it was still decently productive. We've been able to find an older couple who have been taught by missionaries before and they were super kind and inviting to us. We have a return appointment scheduled with them this week so I'll will give more updates as I have them!

I am very appreciative of how the Lord works through us. He takes us as very imperfect beings and is able to take our efforts and put people in our path throughout the day that we wouldn't have expected but when you look back you can see that it was inspired. Everybody we've been able to find so far has come from us actually trying to visit some other particular person. We never found the person we were looking for but we ran into those important people along the way. Pray for missionary opportunities and the Lord will make it happen.

Love to all and more to come!!
