Pounding the Pavement in Chewelah!

Hello Y'alls,

First off,  I hope everybody enjoys some turkey and taters on Thanksgiving this Thursday! I am thankful for all who have sent their love and I'm thankful for the opportunity to be on a mission and learn so much.
So, a run down of the week. We've been hitting pavement and just knocking doors in town. We had interviews with President this week and I voiced my concerns about not knowing exactly what to do because we've been told that Chewelah has been tracted a bunch and to not waste our time. Well, President simply said "tract it again, you never know who you'll find that will decide to invite you in." He told a story of a lady who, long story short, turned down the missionaries when they came knocking around 20 or 30 times, but it just took one time she decided to let them in and she was baptized because of it. So we've been going around and just trying to show the ward that we're here to pound. So, unfortunately I don't have any super cool stories of anybody as of yet but that will hopefully change.

A little insight into Elder Fisher. He's served in the cities for the whole 16 months of his mission and honestly been in big cities all his life. He was blown away that there was only one stoplight in Chewelah while I was thinking to myself (hmm, a stop light. Forgot about those things, I haven't seen one of them in 3 months.) Maybe I can help him get acclimated to the simpler things in life. BUT being in the cities he is really good at tracting and street contacting so that helps a bunch. He also works really really well with members of the ward so that has been a huge blessing and I've learned a lot.

I'm warming up to The Shack. Especially because we have two radiator type heaters that really get the small space cooking when you crank them up. I've also shorn my head much like the Gadianton Robbers (almost) but I promise I'm not robbing and commencing the work of death among the people of Chewelah. My hair was long and I didn't want to pay for a haircut so I had Elder Fisher get his clippers and just told him "do what you need to do."

Love to all and enjoy Thanksgiving! Thankful for you all!
