Sooooo...I've only been out in the mission field for 6 weeks and it looks like I will be taking over the area of Kamiah tomorrow. We are having another huge batch of missionaries coming in tomorrow
and so President needs all the trainers he can get his hands on. Elder
Lofgren is going to sweep train in another area and I will be getting a
new 2nd trainer who has never been down here before. So I'll be showing
him the ropes of Kamiah while I am technically only half way through
with my training. So that's a bit nerve wracking but like I said last
week, the Lord works in mysterious ways.
Fun stories
for this week. We got wrecked in the rain last P-day, ha ha. We went
up and hiked around the Dworshack Dam again, but on our way back the rain
started coming down pretty good and we were quite wet. Dang wet, ha ha.
But, we went over to Brother Rowe's and had ribs and dutch oven cheesy
potatoes after so that made up for it. We also went on exchanges and
while Elder Andrew's was down here he hid around 30 church pamphlets all
around the apartment and we've been finding them everywhere. Under the
beds, in our suit coats, in drawers, even in the flippin' Nesquik jar!
Haven't
had a chance to meet with Hillair and Jo yet so no update on them. BUT
(I can't remember if I mentioned this yet or not) we have got two new
investigators! (yee yee) One is the son of a couple who work at the
thrift store we do service at (Jessie) and the other is an older lady
who lives behind one of the members we know in Kooskia (Vicki). We have
only taught both of them the first discussion. We'll see if they are
still interested in having us come back, but hey, they still count as
investigators so that's good.
Other than that
nothing too crazy to report other than I am really pretty grateful for
how nice the people are around here. The members are super inviting and
the doors we knock the people don't yell at us or anything so that's
super nice HA HA!
Love to all as usual,
Elder Herd
