First
thing is how grateful I am for having the Savior guide our lives
without us really even knowing it. We decided randomly to go visit a
member that Elder Lofgren hadn't seen in a while. Not really for any
particular reason, more just we were out that way and we said why not.
Well, we get there and she opens the door and was really happy because
she has been having some trouble breathing lately with all the smoke in
the air. She has been praying for someone to come and give her a
priesthood blessing for days now and lo and behold we just happen to
show up at her door. We ended up seeing her at church that next week.
(Also shout out for the oil vile that my momma sent me just in time,
that has come in handy, let me tell ya).
We also
had a member that brought a non-member we know to church this last week
(which helps us out A TON). Something this non-member said was, "I really
like how when they first met me they weren't all preachy to me. They
were just genuine and nice." People really do notice the light of
Christ that we all have. Reminds me of something a member told us this
week. We asked him what advice he'd give us for our mission. He simply
said "Don't be fake, don't be pushy" (and don't skip out on dinners
because the members notice and they don't like it). It puts a
responsibility on our shoulders to always exhibit the Savior but as we
do it brings many blessings, seen and not seen.
So,
a little background for this one. We had a pair of investigators that
we taught my second day in Kamiah but after that they just disappeared.
Nobody knew where they were. We couldn't get in contact with them - Absolutely nothing. And they were really the only genuine investigators
we have had. Well fast forward to this week and we've been praying to
find some more investigators to teach. After we did that we got word
from this investigator's fellowshipper that they found a way to get in
contact with them and they are now in Grangeville for a while. Long
story, but they will be there for while. So we got a hold of the sister
missionaries down there and they will go visit them. We pray for
investigators and Grangeville picks up our only ones. The Lord works in
mysterious ways. But, really I'm excited that they are OK and still
interested.
Nothing else to really report
other than we split so much wood (so much wood) the other day because
the weather is just barely starting to turn. We should talk to Hillair
and Jo this week and see if we can answer some of their questions. I'll
let you know how that goes.
Love to all from up the river yee yee
