Awesome Finding Week (5/14/18)

This week was an awesome finding week!! We found about 12 new...ghosty things. Some pics below. But really, we did find a new investigator this week in Pullman, his name is Marquis. We were supposed to have a lesson with him yesterday but he said he was busy, yet he did want to reschedule, so hopefully we'll be able to meet with him this week.

Also I went on exchanges with an Elder out in Colfax and we tracted out a new investigator for them as well. As far as teaching goes it was a bit of a slow week due to all these postponed lessons. We were able to meet with Jesse two out of our three days but he's gone down to Texas to get his kids and won't be back for a week or so.

William and Viviana have been M.I.A so we haven't been able to see them much but they came back into town a day or two ago so we're hoping to see them today. Marie was going to come to church yesterday but while we were waiting for her just before sacrament meeting, we got a text from her and she said that she missed her old church and wanted to stop in to that one a for a bit before she comes to ours. Not really sure what that's supposed to mean but we told her that we don't want to push her and to come when she was ready and comfortable.

We also had zone conference this week over in Moscow. Always good. This was the Dymocks second to last zone conference before they descend down to the land of eternal p-days. Kinda sad but I'm definitely looking forward to President Thompson. This zone conference we officially got approved and authorized to prosolyte with Facebook. Anyone is free to friend me but I won't be able to communicate to you (family and friends) with it. It is specifically given to us as a missionary tool to be used with investigators and for prostlyting means. I posted an explanation of what I can and can't do as far as Facebook goes with people back home.

Had some awesome scripture studies this week. 1 Nephi 13 and 2 Nephi 28 are awesome chapters about apostasy and restoration. I've read those chapters before dozens of times but for some reason this last time something clicked and they made so much more sense to me and I was able to use them a lot this week. The scriptures always do that for me. They speak to you what you need to know and when you need it.

It was awesome to see the family for mothers day yesterday.  Mom, I was thinking the other day how grateful I was for the way that you and dad raised me. Some missionaries out here just detest doing work and their parents would never really expect anything from them. I remember doing service with missionaries, just doing basic yard stuff and hauling things to the dump. One missionary was saying how he'd never done anything like this before and how back home they just had landscape people do everything for them and he never had to do anything like that. Some of the missionaries didn't give a care in the world about school and basically were free to do whatever they wanted and then they're shell shocked and don't know how to handle themselves when they are out here on their own. But for me the transition was never really hard at all. There are expectations to be met and things to get done and nobody is going to do it for you. If someone asks you to do something you do it, and sometimes life just isn't about you. All these things are things that I've seen other missionaries struggle to wrap their heads around but for me it was never really a problem and I attribute a lot of that to you and dad.

Love to all till next week!

P.s. it's sunny and about 80 degrees. Life is good.
